Rajapatni.com: Surabaya (1/3/24) – The Indonesian Street Soccer National Championship is considered a new sport in Indonesia, but is already familiar to various groups of football fans. Associations as a forum for activities have also been formed. Its name is Persocci which is short for Indonesian Street Soccer Association.
As the name suggests “Street Soccer”, this soccer can be played on the street, outdoor and indoor fields. Even Regional Administrators (Pengda) already exist in several provinces in Indonesia. One of them is in ꦗꦮꦠꦶꦩꦸꦂ East Java.
This sport is increasingly attracting public interest because it can be played en masse and can be played anywhere, so Street Soccer can land more quickly in people’s hearts .
This sport formally does not require a large field like football in general. But with just a field measuring 22 m x 16 m, this sport can be played. Moreover, only 4 players per team are enough. Two teams only 8 players.
On 1 – 3 March 2024, the National Persocci Championship was held in Surabaya, which was attended by more than 30 teams from ꦆꦤ꧀ꦝꦺꦴꦤꦺꦱꦶꦪ Indonesia with boys and girls groups. An interesting sight from all the teams, both men’s and women’s, is that the Puteri Surabaya team wears green jerseys and has Javanese script.
According to Novita, Markom Persocci Pengda Jatim, who is also the CEO of the Surabaya City Team, the use of Javanese script on the Surabaya City team jersey is because he wants to promote ꦄꦏ꧀ꦱꦫꦗꦮ Javanese script in the world of sports.
“Sport requires sportsmanship and honesty as well as good norms and that is based on cultural values. Moreover, in this game it is forbidden to say dirty or rude words or you can be subject to a Blue card and expelled from the group. We uphold ethics,” explained Novita.
Violations do not only consist of actions that violate the rules of the game. However, if there are bad cultural actions while on the field, the player can be expelled from the field of play.
For this reason, Novita included the Javanese script which reads ꦯꦸꦫꦨꦪꦮꦤꦶ Surabaya Wani on the green Surabaya City jersey. He hopes that noble cultural values can be upheld in sports. Novi, Novita’s nickname, added that Javanese script is a symbol of noble cultural values.
Writing in Javanese script was a particular concern while the Surabaya City Team competed. Admittedly, the Javanese script still feels foreign, but this script can quickly be understood because underneath it is written in Latin ꦯꦸꦫꦨꦪꦮꦤꦶ “Surabaya Wani”.
This Surabaya Street Soccer jersey could be the first in Indonesia. Novi said that through the world of sports, ꦄꦏ꧀ꦱꦫꦗꦮ Javanese script could be introduced. (Nang PAR).
