Profile of Puri Aksara Rajapatni

ꦥꦸꦫꦶꦄꦏ꧀ꦱꦫꦫꦴꦗꦥꦠ꧀ꦤꦷ Puri Aksara Rajapatni is a cultural community that focuses on Javanese script and carries out activities within the scope of Javanese script and strives to preserve Javanese script, especially in the city of Surabaya.

The Surabaya City Government has issued a Circular dated 19 September 2023 number: 000/20389/436.7.17/2023 regarding the reuse of Javanese script for writing OPD names within the Surabaya City Government,

Therefore, ꦥꦸꦫꦶꦄꦏ꧀ꦱꦫꦫꦴꦗꦥꦠ꧀ꦤꦷ Puri Aksara Rajapatni was born and exists as a forum for learning Javanese Script which is in line with the policies of the Surabaya City Government (2023) and the Javanese Script Congress in Yogyakarta (2021) as well as the Implementation meeting of the First Javanese Script Congress in Surakarta (2021). 2023). This meeting was attended by representatives from three provinces: DIY, Central Java and East Java.

 

BASE

Puri Aksara Rajapatni was established based on the following legal basis:

  1. Article 5 Objects of Cultural Advancement, Law 5/2017 concerning Cultural Advancement.
  2. Government Regulation (PP) Number 87 of 2021 concerning Implementing Regulations of Law Number 5 of 2017 concerning the Advancement of Culture
  3. Surabaya City Regional Secretary Circular no. 000/20389/436.7.17/2023 dated 19 September 2023 concerning the Use of Javanese Script within the Surabaya City government.

Puri Aksara Rajapatni has the following Vision and Mission:

  1. Vision
    • Preserving the nation’s (Javanese) ancestral heritage in the form of Javanese script in Surabaya.
  2. Mission
    • Teaching Javanese Script through the Sinau Javanese Script Program (writing and reading) for pupils, students and the general public.
    • Bringing Javanese script closer to the current generation so that they are literate in Javanese script.
    • Providing Javanese script writing consultation services based on the results of the 2021 Javanese Script Congress and the latest by following existing developments.
    • Organizing workshops and discussions on literacy.
    • Holding creative economy skills training
