Rajapatni.com: Surabaya (10/11/24) – Hyderabad, India, is where Islamic civilization grew and developed in Hindu land in the 18th century. In this country, Hyderabad is also a showcase for traces of the old civilization of the Nizam Al Mulk Dynasty.
Seeing Hyderabad seems to reverse the facts of the world. From this place, it turns out that India is not only famous for the Hindu fairy tales Ramayana and Mahabharata. Because in ancient civilization, Hyderabad was the home of Islamic civilization. This was once the site of Islamic civilization during the Nizam Al Mulk dynasty which came to power in the 18th century.
Participants in the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Program from dozens of countries witnessed Islamic civilization in Hindustan. One of them is from Indonesia, represented by Ita Surojoyo who comes along with the name Puri Aksara Rajapatni Surabaya.
During the historical exploration of Hyderabad on Saturday (9/11/24), they were invited to visit areas with traces of Islamic civilization. They went to this area on foot to better feel the atmosphere of the city of Hyderabad. One of the traces of Islam is the Makkah Mosque. This mosque is the largest mosque in the city of Hyderabad and one of the largest in India. The Makkah Mosque was built in the 17th century and also serves as the main mosque in the Old City of Hyderabad.
Not far from the Makkah Mosque, there is a historical landmark called Charminar. Historical tour participants from the ITEC group made Charminar the first place they visited. Charminar is famous as a shopping center for various local goods such as bangal, colorful Indian bracelets and perfume.
Charminar is a historical monument in the heart of the city of Hyderabad, which was built in 1591 by Muḥammad Qulī Quṭb Shah, the 4th king of the Quṭb Shāhī dynasty. Reportedly, this is the first building in Hyderabad to mark it as the new Capital.
ITEC participants walked from campus to Charminar. Not far from Charminar is the Makkah Mosque. It is called the Mecca Mosque because this mosque has historical ties with the city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia.
The names of important and historical cities in Saudi Arabia are not only Mecca which are used in Hyderabad. There is also the name Madina, where they had lunch with Briyani rice at the luxury hotel Shadap Hotel.
After witnessing the traces of Islamic civilization in Hindustan, they continued to the Chowmahalla Palace museum. This palace is the residence of the royal family who embraced Islam. The palace building is very elegant and luxurious. The area is very large and stretches across the North and South. Inside it still holds a lot of furniture, ornaments and items belonging to the royal family.
“This palace is private property, the descendants of the king now live in Türkiye. They are still very rich and have lots of palaces everywhere,” explained Ita Surojoyo, the only ITEC participant from Indonesia.
She witnessed the presence of Islamic civilization in Hyderabad, which is located in the middle of India. These three landmarks in Hyderabad are formed as if these three landmarks are on one straight axis.
In Yogyakarta there is the term Yogyakarta Philosophy Axis. This axis threads through the Krapyak- Kraton Stage – Golong Gilig Monument. Meanwhile, in the old city of Hyderabad, the axis stretches from Cherminar – Mecca Mosque – Chowmahalla Palace.
